Anne Heche

Anne Heche plays opposite Vince Vaughn in Return to Paradise. Jamie Graham, in the British Film Institute archive, says the two of them clear serious hurdles and give excellent performances, and places them at that moment as actors who had just stepped out of independent cinema into the mainstream. Gavin Smith, in the same archive, argues that the casting of the 1998 remake of Alfred Hitchcock's 1960 classic was set deliberately against the qualities of the original cast, and finds that her Marion lacks Janet Leigh's guilt and melancholy.
