Jin Goo
7 films · 3 series
Jin Goo came to film early, through his father, a cinematographer. His first work was the 2003 television series All In, where he played the younger version of the lead Lee Byung-hun and drew notice at once. A dossier from the Korean Film Council puts his interest in the world of hard men: in A Bittersweet Life he was Lee Byung-hun's man again, and in A Dirty Carnival a mid-level gang boss who seems loyal and then sells his own chief without flinching. In the horror film Epitaph, set in the 1940s, he played a medical student who marries the spirit of a dead woman, and was named best new actor of the year at the Golden Film awards. Mother of 2009, for Bong Joon Ho, gave him a good-looking but violence-prone character, and that took the supporting actor category at both the Grand Bell and the Blue Dragon awards. In Northern Limit Line he played a soldier killed in a clash with North Korea.
