Community Guidelines
Last updated: July 2026
Pulse of Cinema is a community around drama cinema. The point here is to talk about films, decide what to watch, and find people whose taste is close to yours. These rules apply both on the site and in the app.
What we expect
- Say what you think about the film; critique the work, not the person.
- Warn before spoilers. People who want the ending and people who don't are both here.
- Your watch history is your own record; no judging someone else's list.
Not allowed
- Harassment and abuse: targeted insults, threats, persistent unwanted contact.
- Hate speech: targeting people over race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or similar characteristics.
- Sexual content: pornographic material or content normalising sexual abuse. Any sexual content involving minors is removed immediately and reported to the authorities.
- Incitement to violence: calls to harm people or groups, glorifying violence.
- Spam and advertising: repeated content, irrelevant links, inflating engagement with fake accounts.
- Impersonation: pretending to speak for a real person, an organisation, or the Pulse of Cinema team.
- Pirated content: sharing illegal streaming links.
- Someone else's private information: sharing personal data without consent.
How to protect yourself
- Block: tap "Block" on a user's profile. A blocked person can't see your lists or follow you; any existing follow is removed. Manage blocks under Profile → Blocked users.
- Report: tap "Report" on a profile or content and choose a reason. Reports are private; the other person never learns who reported.
- Limit your visibility: Profile → "Who can see my lists" lets you make your watched films and ratings public, friends-only, or fully private.
How reports are handled
We review reports and take action within 24 hours: removing content, limiting a user's visibility, or closing the account. For severe violations (child abuse, credible threats of violence) accounts are closed without warning. If you think a decision was wrong, you can appeal via contact.
Usernames
Your username is chosen once and cannot be changed afterwards. Usernames containing abuse, hate speech or impersonation will be disabled. System and brand names are reserved.
Deleting your account
Profile → Delete account permanently removes your account and data, including your lists, ratings, badges and comments.
