120 Bahadur

Razneesh Ghai's 2025 Indian film recounts an engagement during the Sino-Indian war of 1962. A small unit positioned in the Ladakh region defends its post against a force many times its size. The narrative takes place largely at one position. Ammunition runs down, no air support arrives and the unit receives no order to withdraw; the film gives this not as a strategic argument but as a minute-by-minute story of holding on. Farhan Akhtar plays the unit's commander. It was shot at high altitude and the climate sits inside the narrative. The film starts from a real event and its emphasis on heroism is open. Who it's for: those who like Indian war films. Who it's not for: viewers expecting the engagement treated from both sides; the film tells it from one point of view.
