What A Father's Legacy Is About
A young man, wounded and with people after him, takes shelter in a house by a pond. An old man lives there alone. The young man draws a gun and holds him hostage in his own home. Days pass, the two of them have to talk, and things they did not know about each other's pasts start to come out. Jason Mac wrote the film, directed it and played the young man; Tobin Bell plays the old one. It rests almost entirely on two people and one location. The telling depends on talk rather than suspense and takes up the question of forgiveness openly. The budget is small, the pace slow, and the weight is on the acting.
