A Monster with a Thousand Heads

Sonia's husband has cancer and has got worse. The insurance company will not approve the treatment his doctor has prescribed. She is put on hold, asked for paperwork, sent to another department, told the office is closing. One day she takes her son and goes after the man responsible in person. She has a gun with her. She climbs the company's ladder one rung at a time: clerk, manager, doctor, partner. Each of them says they are only doing their job and none of them is the one who decides. She cannot reach anybody, because there is no one person there. Rodrigo Plá directs the Mexican film; seventy-four minutes, with Jana Raluy as Sonia. Court testimony cuts into it, framing the whole thing as a case file from the start. Short, in one breath, and the title describes exactly what it shows.
