What A Simple Curve Is About

Caleb is twenty seven and grew up in the Kootenays. His parents were people who left the city and settled in the bush. Caleb loves his father Jim and understands his reverence for woodworking. What he does not understand is Jim’s determination to run the business into the ground at every turn. As the junior partner in their carpentry shop he cannot stop it. When Matthew, an old friend of Jim’s, comes to the valley to build an expensive fishing lodge, Caleb sees a chance. If he can keep his father occupied long enough, the deal will hold. But a small concealment turns into a large betrayal. The film carries the reckoning between father and son without enlarging it. Kris Lemche and Michael Hogan appear in Aubrey Nealon’s ninety one minute Canadian film, completed in 2005.
