Ah Müjgân Ah

Husnu is a poor young man who works as a greengrocer’s apprentice and as a night watchman at a wood yard. He is in love with Mujgan, who lives in the same neighbourhood, and he has hopes for the future. The only obstacle before the two as they prepare to marry is Mujgan’s mother Aliye, and they find a way round her. To put together her trousseau Mujgan takes work at a tailor’s, and there she is drawn to the wealthy life she sees. Faruk, her employer’s son, is interested in her. Learning of it, Aliye marries her daughter to Faruk, and Mujgan cannot object. A few years later Faruk tires of her and leaves, and the paths of the two former lovers cross again. Sadri Alisik plays the lead in Mehmet Dinler’s seventy four minute Turkish film, completed in 1970.
