Vishnu Vinay's 2024 Malayalam film follows the case of Merin Joy, who has gone missing. An ordinary man finds himself inside the investigation because of an event in his own past. The film runs two lines together. As the police case advances, the man's past opens piece by piece; the narrative holds the viewer by withholding information and makes the connection late. Arjun Ashokan leads, with Saiju Kurup and Siddique in support. The tone is calm and the violence limited. The close delivers its explanation all at once. Who it's for: those who like Malayalam thrillers and investigation narratives. Who it's not for: viewers expecting constant action; the film proceeds through long stretches of talk.
