Dirk Roofthooft What Any Way the Wind Blows Is About
Antwerp at the start of June. On a stifling Friday eight people are imagining a different life. There is wind and music, there are police and paranoia, gossip and arguing. There is also an ancient virus, a lost frisbee, a dead horse, and a figure called Windman walking the city who feels everyone's pain and cannot do anything for his own. In the evening a party is waiting for all of them. It is the first film by Tom Barman, the singer of dEUS, and it moves on atmosphere rather than plot, bringing its rhythm from the field he came out of. One of Matthias Schoenaerts' early roles is here.
