What Apostle Peter and the Last Supper Is About
The film shows the apostle Peter in his cell during his final imprisonment in Rome. The old man talks with Martinian, one of his jailers, and as he talks he returns to the years he spent beside Jesus: the day he was called, the roads they walked together, the teachings and the last supper. He tells of his own denial too, because his own weakness stands at the centre of the story he is telling and he does not hide it from the jailer. The account thus places a whole life inside a conversation between two men. In Gabriel Sabloff’s eighty eight minute American film, Robert Loggia plays Peter, Bruce Marchiano plays Jesus and Laurence Fuller plays Martinian. It was completed in 2013.
