At Eye Level

Eleven year old Michi lives in a children’s home and fights every day to win the respect of the other children. From a letter his mother left he learns who his father is and goes to find him: Tom is a short man, shorter even than Michi. The image of a strong father the boy had carried falls apart at once, and when the others at the home find out Michi can no longer stay there; he runs, and having nowhere to go he moves in with his father. Tom, new to being a father, and the boy, trying to hide his embarrassment, come in time to see how alike they are. In Joachim Dollhopf’s ninety eight minute German film, Jordan Prentice plays Tom and Luis Vorbach plays Michi. It was completed in 2016.
