Ballad of Tara

Tara is a young widow. She comes back to her village with her two children. On the way she learns that her grandfather has died. She hands out what he left to the neighbours. One thing stays on her hands. An old sword. Nobody will take it. One day on the road she meets a warrior. He comes out of a very old time. He says his people sent him to take the sword back. Tara gives it to him in the end. He comes back all the same, because he has fallen hard for her, and the account keeps the real and the legendary folded into each other. Susan Taslimi and Manuchehr Farid appear in the hundred and ten minute film, an Iranian production Bahram Beyzai finished in 1979.
