What Barbarian Invasion Is About
Moon Lee is an actress. She won awards and then gave up acting. Now she is divorced and a full time mother. She wants to find herself again. Her old collaborator Roger Woo brings her an offer. The offer is the lead in a martial arts film. No stunt doubles will be used. That means Moon will do every scene herself. It calls for punishing training. At first the woman hesitates. Then she leaves her son with Roger’s assistant and starts work. Just as her confidence is coming back she gets some news. For the film to go ahead her ex husband Julliard will share the lead. Tan Chui Mui directed the hundred and six minute film, with Pete Teo and Bront Palarae in the cast. The Chinese, Hong Kong and Malaysian coproduction was finished in 2022.
