Children of the Otherside

Semih did his military service in the southeast. Because of the operations he took part in there he was discharged a month early. On the day of his discharge he returns to Istanbul. But when he reaches home he walks into a funeral. The person who has died is his own brother. Semih wants to learn what happened. He starts looking for who killed him. The search takes him into the outer neighbourhoods of the city. Another order runs there. The questions are not easily answered. Semih moves into a conflict of a different kind. In time he sees that more than one life has been lost. Anger and helplessness stand side by side in the neighbourhood. Mehmet Ali Nuroğlu and İsmail Hacıoğlu take the leads, with Eyşan Özhim and Ertan Saban also in the cast, in Aydın Bulut’s Turkish film of 2008.
