Khadeeja is a married woman. Her life passes within the four walls of the house. She is expected to keep her own wishes to herself. That expectation comes from the neighbours and from custom. One day her brother disappears. The young man has joined an armed group. The news pulls Khadeeja’s life apart. The neighbourhood turns its back on the family. Her husband draws away under the same pressure. The police come after Khadeeja. Questionings and raids follow one another. Only her mother is left with her. She is cut off from her son as well. The woman looks for a way to stand on her own feet. Kani Kusruti and Shailaja Jala take the leads in Sajin Baabu’s Malayalam film of 2021.
