Blackbird

Sean is of high school age, lives in a small Canadian town, wears black and looks like nobody else at school. Worn down by what his classmates do to him, he writes an attack scenario online. The writing is found. He is arrested, put in juvenile detention and prosecuted on the claim that he was actually planning to shoot up the school. The whole town has already made up its mind that he is guilty. Jason Buxton's first feature has Connor Jessup as Sean. The film is not about a shooting but about what the fear of one can do to a boy, and his age does not protect him from any of it. In the end the question is not what Sean did but what everyone believes he did.
