Bonobos: Back to the Wild

The documentary is about a rescue project caring for the bonobos of the Congo. At the head of the work is the naturalist Claudine André. Bonobos are among the endangered species and the ground they live on is shrinking. The film follows step by step the care of orphaned animals and their release back into the wild. The camera stays close both to the animals and to the people doing the work. The account carries a nature documentary and a human story along together. It does not lecture the viewer; it shows the process. The ninety minutes are given to that work. Rebecca Hall and Luke Evans are among the narrators of Alain Tixier’s French documentary, completed in 2011.
