Border Café

A young woman has just lost her husband. What he left behind is a roadside café. Lorry drivers stop and eat there. The woman decides to open the café again. Being seen out in the open, though, is not welcomed. So she stays in the kitchen. She sends the food out from there and keeps herself unseen. Her brother in law objects to the arrangement. Following custom, the man wants to marry her. He means to take over the café as well. She will not accept either of those things. There is a Greek lorry driver who comes to the café often. At first the man is taken with the cooking. Then with the woman who cooks it. The woman wants to make her own decision herself. Fereshteh Sadr Orafaee and Parviz Parastouei appear in the hundred and five minute film, a French and Iranian co-production Kambuzia Partovi finished in 2005.
