Bottle Radha

Dinakaran Sivalingam's 2025 Tamil film follows Radha, an alcoholic. His wife has him admitted to a rehabilitation centre without telling him, and Radha takes it as betrayal. The film does not give recovery as a straight line. Radha escapes, returns and begins again; the narrative puts neither his wife nor Radha in the wrong and shows how the family wears down. Guru Somasundaram leads. The tone is hard with humour cutting in. The close offers no easy solution. Who it's for: viewers of Tamil independent cinema and narratives of addiction. Who it's not for: viewers for whom alcoholism and violence within a family would be difficult.
