What Burning Hearts Is About
The Gargano promontory in Puglia. A feud between two families has run for years, and a new love sets it alight again: Andrea, the reluctant heir of the Malatesta, and Marilena, wife of the head of the rival Camporeale clan. Cast out by her own family, Marilena falls into the hands of the Malatesta; she becomes the thing fought over, humiliated and beaten. And she stands against a fate already written. Pippo Mezzapesa directed and shot it in black and white; the singer Elodie plays Marilena. It comes from a real case. Violence against women is shown directly.
