What Camera Is About
Nine-year-old Oscar does not speak. He is struggling to settle in the small fishing town he has moved to with his widowed, overworked mother. A broken film camera brings him to Eric, who runs the repair shop, and an unlikely friendship forms; the boy does not find his voice but he finds something to say with photographs. Jay Silverman treats not speaking not as a deficit but as another language. Beau Bridges plays Eric and Miguel Gabriel plays Oscar. The film was released on digital platforms in July 2024.
