What Center of My World Is About
Seventeen year old Phil comes back from summer camp to find that the atmosphere in the family’s rambling house has curdled, and nobody will say why. At the same time he is drawn to Nicholas, a new arrival at school, and discovers first love along with the particular damage it is capable of doing. Jakob M. Erwa takes the size of that feeling seriously instead of shrinking it, and gives the silences at home as much attention as the romance. Long, patient and unusually generous towards its teenagers. Who it’s for: anyone who wants a coming of age story told at its own speed.
