Andrew Santino's 2023 stand-up special moves quickly from subject to subject. Climate change, sexual injuries, politics and marriage are taken up in the same flow; there is no binding theme. Santino's manner is aggressive and high-tempo. He speaks directly with the audience and builds some passages in the moment; the rhythm of the show is set by those interruptions. The recording is formally plain and the stage design standard. The joke density is high and the choice of subjects deliberately provocative; the narrative never tries to go anywhere serious. Who it's for: those who like high-energy, provocative stand-up. Who it's not for: viewers uncomfortable with crude humour and sexual jokes; the show is in that register throughout.
