Cleo

Cleo works at a tourist office in Berlin, lost her father when she was ten and holds herself responsible for that death. Since childhood she has believed that a magical watch said to be hidden in the lost treasure of the Sass brothers can turn time back. When she meets Paul, a young adventurer who has found a map to the treasure, she goes along with him and the two set out on a journey through the history of the city. The film mixes fairy tale with the real thing; animated passages, tricks of the eye and the city’s own stories run into one another. In the end the matter is not turning time back but being able to let the past go. Marleen Lohse and Jeremy Mockridge appear in Erik Schmitt’s ninety nine minute production, completed in 2019.
