What Conversations with God Is About
Neale Donald Walsch was a real person before he was a bestseller. After a car accident broke his neck and cost him his job, he spent a stretch homeless in Oregon, and the furious questions he scrawled at God became a book that sold in the millions. The film runs that arc in order, with Henry Czerny as Walsch. It was directed by Stephen Simon, who had produced Somewhere in Time and What Dreams May Come. It speaks in the book's own register rather than arguing with a sceptic, so what you make of it depends heavily on what you brought in with you.
