Crossing The Border

A seven year old boy is sent to the countryside. He is to stay with his grandfather for a while. The grandfather is called Li Fuchang and he is in his seventies. The two of them get used to each other slowly. Then word reaches the old man. He learns where an old friend of his is living. The friend’s days are numbered. He decides to go and see him. He sets out on his motorised three wheeler. He takes the boy along. The road runs for hundreds of kilometres. Other people cross their path along the way. The story is in no hurry and makes no grand statements. Taiyi Yang appears in the ninety three minute film, a Chinese production directed by Huo Meng.
