What Dark River Is About
The Peralta brothers set out to find work. Where they go is the Alto Parana region. There they are to work in the fields. The conditions at the place are very hard. The workers are kept under debt. Anyone who wants to leave is not allowed to. Wages are paid short. The brothers see it from the first day. But leaving is not easy either. In time the anger among the workers grows. In the end they rise together. The account closes with that revolt. The film puts drama and western together. Pedro Laxalt and Gloria Ferrandiz are in the cast as well. Hugo del Carril and Adriana Benetti take the leads, with Raul del Valle also in the cast, in Hugo del Carril’s Argentine film of 1952.
