David's Birthday

Two couples share a house by the sea for the summer. The habits are settled, the conversations are worn smooth, everyone knows their part. Then David, the grown son of one couple, arrives, and something stirs in the husband of the other that he was not expecting. As the summer goes on what was buried comes up, and the balance of the house gives way. Marco Filiberti films desire as a quiet unravelling rather than a scandal: nobody raises their voice and almost everything happens in glances. Alessandro Gassmann and Maria de Medeiros are in the cast. You can feel from early on that this will not end well.
