Deep Cover

A woman who teaches improvisation and two of her students are hired by the police to play a part in a small operation. The job grows and they cannot get out of character. The film turns the first rule of improvisation, never refuse what you are offered, into something that threatens their lives. That is where its tension comes from: the characters have to accept every lie. Bryce Dallas Howard, Orlando Bloom and Nick Mohammed lead. Tom Kingsley directed. It is a British production. Who it's for: those who like crime comedy and improvised humour. Who it's not for: viewers expecting a realistic police story; the film keeps its logic deliberately loose.
