Delbaran

Kaim is a fourteen year old Afghan boy. He is living in Iran without papers. He drifts to the border crossing at Delbaran. There he finds work at a coffee house where lorry drivers stop. The owner and the customers treat him kindly. The boy feels at home in the place. The surroundings are not as calm as they look, though. The sounds of war can be heard in the background. Armed bandits prowl the roads. Opium is everywhere. Kaim runs about from morning to night. He hurries from one task to the next. He is given no time to rest. After a while the viewer sees what is happening. This child is being cheated out of his childhood. Kaim Alizadeh and Rahmatollah Ebrahimi appear in the ninety six minute film, an Iranian and Japanese co-production Abolfazl Jalili finished in 2001.
