Hell of Boomerang

Yusuf Miroğlu travels with his fiancée Zeynep to Diyarbakır for the wedding of Cemal, the friend he did his military service with. While the halay is being danced at the wedding, Cemal is killed by an assassin. Cemal's wife Leyla asks Yusuf to find the people responsible. As Yusuf looks into it, what he runs into is a web of armed groups in the region and of dark connections behind them. Osman Sınav's film comes out of the television series of the same name and carries the character Kenan İmirzalıoğlu plays onto the screen. It is an action picture, and it approaches the conflict in the region from the state's official view; that is worth knowing while watching. It is one of the few films that told what Turkey was going through in the nineties and the early two thousands in the language of genre cinema. It opened on 7 December 2001.
