Demetri Martin: Demetri Deconstructed

Demetri Martin is a stand up comedian. This is a special he made for Netflix. It is not an ordinary recording of a stage set. The picture is in black and white. The form nods at the French new wave. The special is broken into parts. Between them come reflections on himself. Martin takes his own stage persona apart. He also argues about how a joke is built. The material comes from everyday things, aggressively scented bin bags among them, and desk jobs in hell among others. Martin directed it himself. It was released on 2 April 2024 and is the first of three. MK Paulsen and Ron Lynch also appear in the fifty one minute film, an American production Demetri Martin finished in 2024.
