What Der Überfall Is About
Looking for a suitable place to rob, Andreas ends up inside a tailor’s shop. What should have taken a few minutes turns into a strange afternoon for three men: an amateur robber, a bad tempered tailor and a customer who thinks he knows best about everything. It is not clear who is holding whom, and the table keeps turning; the upper hand passes from one man to another, and as the talk goes on the affair stops being a robbery and becomes a reckoning. Florian Flicker’s eighty four minute Austrian film draws its black comedy out of the tension between the three of them. Roland Düringer and Josef Hader take the leads, with Joachim Bißmeier also appearing, and it was completed in 2000.
