What Doggiewoggiez! Poochiewoochiez! Is About
The film is built entirely from footage of dogs taken from other films: old videotapes, commercials, training films, television programmes and home recordings follow one after another. The team do not put these thousands of fragments in random order; they build a journey by imitating the shape of Alejandro Jodorowsky’s 1973 film The Holy Mountain. The result is at once a joke and an experiment in editing made from found footage. What comes out of it is not about dogs but about the footage itself, piled up in archives. The fifty five minute American film by Nic Maier and Dimitri Simakis is the third feature by the collective Everything Is Terrible; it was completed in 2012.
