Dry Leaf

Alexandre Koberidze's 2026 Georgian film follows a father searching for his daughter Lisa, a photographer who has gone missing. She had been photographing football pitches in the villages. He travels from village to village and meets a different story in each. The film uses the search as a pretext; the narrative puts its weight on recording the Georgian countryside and adds an unseen character to the journey. It runs long and the pace is very slow. The images are low in resolution and deliberately close to amateur. The telling is fable-like. Who it's for: those who like slow cinema and formal experiment. Who it's not for: viewers expecting a plot; the film is long and diffuse.
