Dylan Moran: Yeah, Yeah

A stand-up show by the Irish comedian Dylan Moran, recorded at the Hammersmith Apollo in London in 2011. The subjects look confined to ageing, religion, children and relationships, but the actual point is that all of them are absurd at the same time. Moran is a comic who comes on stage holding a drink, builds his sentences the long way round, and pulls them together just as they look about to fall apart. Moran, known for the series Black Books, has sharp observation and a lazy delivery, and that contradiction is where the comedy comes from. He does not go in for political set-pieces or aim at anyone directly; instead he magnifies the small defeats of ordinary life.
