Eastern Plays

Two brothers in Sofia have been apart for a long time. The younger one, Georgi, has just joined a neo-Nazi group and takes part in a street attack on a Turkish family. His older brother Itso happens to be passing and pulls the family out of it. More is expected of Georgi now, and he begins to question where he has put himself; Itso, having met the young woman he rescued, starts rethinking his own life. Kamen Kalev wrote the film out of the life of his childhood friend Christo Christov, who plays very nearly himself in it, in his own flat and his own workshop. Christov died of an overdose as soon as shooting finished. The Turkish woman is played by Saadet Işıl Aksoy.
