What Echte Wiener - Die Sackbauer-Saga Is About
The story of the Sackbauer family picks up thirty years on. In that time its members have grown apart from each other and from everyone around them. Only Toni, the mother, is trying to put the old order back together. Mundl, the head of the house, is nearing eighty and has to watch the little garden house on his allotment come down. A residential building is to go up where the garden was. The film moves as a family comedy with a story of falling apart underneath it. The work was made as a continuation of one of the most watched television series in Austria. Karl Merkatz and Ingrid Burkhard play the same roles again. Kurt Ockermüller’s ninety minute Austrian film was completed in 2008.
