El asadito

The date is 30 December 1999. Seven friends meet for a barbecue on Tito’s terrace. Then one more guest arrives that nobody expected. The meal stretches on and the night runs into the early hours of the last day of the millennium. As the talk goes on, the old matters between them come open. The end of the year and the end of the millennium sit behind the conversation. The film takes place almost entirely on that terrace, and the camera rarely leaves the table. The account builds no events; it watches the conversation at the table. The seventy one minutes are given to a single night. Tito Gómez and Gerardo Dayub appear in Gustavo Postiglione’s Argentine film of 2000.
