What El estudiante Is About
A man of seventy retires to Guanajuato and decides to do something he never did in his life: he enrols at the university. In the literature department he sits alongside students the age of his grandchildren. Neither side understands the other at first, and then a common text turns up: Don Quixote. What the students are dealing with, what the old man has left to settle, and what the novel says to both of them come together. Roberto Girault does not hide the sentiment and in fact leans on it heavily. It found an unexpected audience in Mexico, particularly in schools and with families. Jorge Lavat leads.
