What Elementary Is About
Florence is a primary school teacher who has given herself entirely to the job. When she sees that Sacha, a new pupil, has serious trouble at home, she sets about doing everything she can for him. In doing so she begins to neglect her own son, her own life and her faith in the profession; the boy is at the same school and watches the attention his mother gives another child. The film stays inside the classroom, was shot with real children, and treats teaching as neither heroism nor complaint.
