What Even the Wind Is Afraid Is About
One of the classics of Mexican horror. At a girls' boarding school, Claudia keeps having the same dream: a girl hanging in the tower. When she and her friends go to investigate it, they are punished by being kept at the school over the holiday, and the nights in the emptied building stretch out. Claudia learns that the girl in the dream was a pupil who killed herself there years ago, and that the headmistress has seen the ghost. Taboada builds the fear out of empty corridors and wind rather than repellent images. Suicide is central to the film.
