Fashion Victims

Wolfgang, fifty-two, is a travelling salesman selling clothes to shops for women over thirty-five, and he does the job the old way. When he loses his licence he takes his son along as a driver to save the season. The boy is sulking because he has missed his post-school holiday. A young, successful rival salesman is working the same territory, and the three of them cross paths. Ingo Rasper's film takes place in the small towns of southern Germany and builds the distance between father and son inside a car. The comedy is not crude but rests on a quiet embarrassment: nobody can say what they want. Edgar Selge plays the father and Florian Bartholomäi the son. The secret that comes out on the road shows that each of them had the other wrong.
