What Fight Against Evil 2 Is About
Li Hongqi, a police officer in northeast China, comes across evidence that a local gang is involved in illegal pornography. The deeper the investigation goes, the clearer a structure becomes: women made dependent on drugs and kept under control. The gang openly takes on the police as well. Li Hongqi decides to see the thing through to the end. Directed by Qin Pengfei, the film is the second part of the series of the same name. Xie Miao takes the lead. It stands on the thin line between showing a crime and turning a crime into a spectacle, and by its subject it is uncomfortable. The women who were harmed stay at the edge of the film; the focus is on the police side. It is a ninety minute genre picture, fast and direct.
