Francesca Riso What Fiore Is About
Daphne is sent to a juvenile prison for theft, a place where the girls and boys are kept apart and can only see each other through a window or across a corridor. She falls for Josh, held in another wing, and the love runs on letters, shouted exchanges and a few stolen seconds. Outside, the father who has been absent for years starts appearing again. Giovannesi neither romanticises the prison nor turns it into a spectacle of cruelty; he shows it as a place that makes ordinary adolescence impossible. The ending promises no easy rescue.
