Force of Arms

It is the winter of 1943. The front has locked in the mountains of Italy. The German army has stopped the American advance. Fighting goes back and forth. Joe Peterson leads a platoon. His platoon starts to be cut down in it. He goes on leave. In Naples he meets a woman. Her name is Eleanor MacKay. She is a lieutenant in the army. She keeps her distance at first. The distance breaks during a bombing raid, and a relationship begins, but Joe has to keep going back to the front. William Holden, Nancy Olson, Frank Lovejoy and Gene Evans appear in the ninety nine minute film, an American production Michael Curtiz finished in 1951.
