Taies Farzan What Fratricide Is About
Two young Kurdish refugees, newly arrived in Germany, try to hold on in a city they do not know. They have neither the language nor anything to lean on. Their meeting with a group of young Turks in the street begins with a small incident and soon turns into a chain that moves through death and revenge. The film does not tell the conflict through the rightness of one side or the other; it shows that both sides come out of the same helplessness and that the violence gains nobody anything. Xevat Gectan and Erdal Celik appear in Yilmaz Arslan’s ninety minute film, completed in 2005.
