This Norwegian mockumentary follows the rise of an invented boy band called Boyzvoice, along with their fans and their management. The group does everything by the book: the choreography, the hair, the lines to be said in front of a camera. Then a live performance exposes them for not singing their own songs, the fans revolt, the American record label drops the contract, and the entire structure comes apart overnight. The ninety five minute film mocks the pop industry by pretending to explain it from the inside, and it spares nobody. Espen Eckbo plays both M’Pete, the group’s frontman, and Ove, their fourteen year old biggest fan. It was released on 1 December 2000.
