What Good-Time Girl Is About
Sixteen year old Gwen, running from violence at home, is sent to a home for problem girls over a petty theft. The only thing she learns there is how crimes are committed; once out, she finds herself back in the same circles and drawn into worse and worse work. The account is built as a warning: the film proceeds in the words of a magistrate telling this past so that another girl will not take the same road. The way the state protects a child does not escape criticism either. Jean Kent appears in David MacDonald’s eighty one minute British film, with Herbert Lom and Flora Robson.
